Remember when I said, I love myself a 350z.

Yeah..

This car was purchased in Japan from Rohab, the CEO of R’nation. This one was never meant to be a complex build; the decision was very simple. We planned to keep the car mostly stock and use it as a dedicated practice car for drifting events in Japan. The idea behind this car was never to create a high-budget competition build. Instead, it was designed to be a reliable beater car that could take abuse and keep going.

This is a complete stock 350Z, and under the hood sits its factory 3.5-litre V6 engine, producing approximately 270 horsepower. Now you may think that the number does not sound very impressive in a world where drift cars regularly push 600 horsepower or maybe more, but it is actually more than enough for the purpose this car was built for.

While we kept the car mechanically stock, a few key modifications were added to make it suitable for drifting. The first modification we planned was extremely common in grassroots drift cars: welding the differential. This one provides consistent power delivery to both rear wheels, making it easier to hold a drift.

Next, we fitted a hydraulic E-brake to help the driver quickly lock the rear wheels when needed. And lastly, to increase the steering angle, we installed a GKTech angle kit. These three upgrades transform the otherwise stock car into a capable drift machine without compromising its simplicity
